GESI Advocacy Visits to Traditional Rulers
Continuing our Gender Equality Advocacy through more inclusion of women in leadership and decision-making processes and roles, HRCRC visited the Traditional Ruler of Mgbabu Echara – His Royal Highness Eze Sunday Oketa; and His Royal Highness Eze Nwite Ngele of Oriuzor, who both expressed willingness to act on the initiative. HRCRC will continue the process of collaborating with these and other traditional rulers in Ebonyi State on this initiative.

Awareness Program on Promoting Women’s Inclusion: Continuing our advocacy for Gender Equity, we visited HRH Eze D. I. Aloh Erimogwudu kingdom of Amegu, Ikwo Local Government Area, Ebonyi State in at His Amegu palace to carry out an awareness program on promoting women’s inclusion in decision-making for the people Amegu Ikwo, Ebonyi State.
This awareness advocacy aims to increase the number of women in the traditional leadership cabinets to a minimum of 30%; whilst also encouraging women to present themselves and participate actively in governance.

Safeguarding Training for Teachers in Ebonyi Central: In line with our goal to establish safeguarding practices and ideals in schools and establishments that have contact with children of Ebonyi State; and kicking off our 2025 Safeguarding week, HRCRC trained select teachers from 30 schools; who are to be safeguarding officers for their schools in Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone.
