HRCRC Marks Her Annual Safeguarding Week: And so HRCRC marked her annual Safeguarding for Children and vulnerable adults week this past week. This Annual event is facilitated by our mother organization – St. Patrick’s Missionary Society SPMS through her Safeguarding Officer for West Africa – Raphael Okusaga.
Events kicked off with an in-house meeting for staff on Gender Referral Pathways in Ebonyi State on Thursday.
Friday Started with Safeguarding and Trauma Training for the Ebonyi State Gender Based Violence GBV Taskforce. This task force is a multi-sectoral group made of different line organizations, ministries, and agencies; with HRCRC a member of the Steering Committee. The training was Facilitated by Raphael Okusaga.
HRCRC thereafter visited the Ebonyi State Remand Home for Juveniles and an Orphanage for vulnerable children and the helpless run by Trinitarian Missionary Sisters; discussing safeguarding and attendant policies at each instance.
Saturday marked the grand finale with a refresher workshop on safeguarding, trauma, and self-care for HRCRC staff and volunteers; followed by a Recommitment and signing of recommitment to safeguarding for all staff and volunteers.
