Community Mediation at Umunnabuode in Ezillo

Today, we visited Umunnabuode, Ezillo to mediate on a family land boundary dispute, met with the elders and key stakeholders of the community, who patiently shared in details the history and underlying causes of the dispute.
The engagement created an atmosphere of openness, understanding, and mutual respect.
After constructive dialogue, all parties expressed their commitment to pursuing a peaceful resolution in the interest of the family and the wider community.
We commend the elders, stakeholders, and everyone involved for choosing dialogue over division. Peace is built when communities come together to listen, understand, and seek justice.

Certification of Women with Disability in Negotiation-Based Mediation: Furthering our commitment to the most vulnerable of society, and Persons with Disabilities, HRCRC in collaboration with Hope Inspired Foundation for Women and Youth with Disabilities HIFWYD trained six Women with Disability in Basic Skills in Negotiation Based Mediation. The 12 week training included especially practical sessions and assessments and on conclusion, they were certified

HRCRC’s Chioma Facilitated a Session on Mediation and GBV for ECEWS: HRCRC’s Legal Officer facilitated a session on Mediation for Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS), their community volunteers, and first-line responders in a bid to help them understand mediation and intervene more objectively in GBV cases in their communities.
