Recognition and Achievement

From its past achievement, HRCRC has been recognised in the following ways:

  1. Received award of recognition from the Amnesty International for the promotion of Human Rights given by the Abia State University Chapter.
  2. Addressed the World Conference of Jurists in Ireland in 2002.
  3. Addressed two chambers of the National Assembly in Abuja on human rights issues in Nigeria in 2002.
  4. Received a State Award for excellence from the government of Ebonyi State for the promotion of Human rights and the rights of women and children in 2007
  5. Obtained scholarships to train 1 staff in Peace Studies at Eastern Mennonite University, United States and 2 others in conflict management at Selly Oak Colleges in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
  6. Received an Award from the Nigerian Bar Association, Abakaliki Branch for promoting human rights and rule of law in 2009.
  7. Award of Excellence from FIDA for contributing to dispute resolution and protection of Women’s Rights in Ebonyi State 2010.
