HRCRC joyfully and with honour played host to the Irish Ambassador to Nigeria – Sean Hoy; in company of Fr Kevin O’Hara yesterday.
We thank the Ambassador for visiting, we are grateful to our founder Fr O’Hara and we thank Ebonyi State Government for the recognition – naming a landmark after HRCRC’s founder in appreciation of the work we do.
In acknowledgment and recognition of HRCRC’s work and contribution to Ebonyi State, the State Government named the road leading to HRCRC complex after our founder Fr Kevin O’Hara.
We are very grateful for this honour which only serves to spur us to do more for humanity.
It was another huge and significant step forward for Ebonyi State as the government signed an MoU with Budgit to help facilitate a more transparent and accountable budgeting process in the state; with more citizens participation. As OGP Cochair Access to Information Ebonyi State, HRCRC was present in the meeting with the Commissioner for Finance, the Permanent Secretary, delegates from Budgit and others involved in the budget planning and preparation.
As agents of social change, HRCRC fronted an exercise aimed at rekindling consciousness of communal ownership of public properties among people. While it is up to govt to deliver public good such as roads, electricity and water given their sheer size of resources, as citizens, we can do something to help put our environments in better condition of living when govt fails or delay in responding to meet our needs. At HRCRC, we believe in cultivating sense of patriotism, commonality and social responsiveness, values that are needed for the development of our country.
Saturday 18, August was a clear demonstration of goodwill among users of the road leading to Juju Hill (also, the access road to HRCRC Office Complex) as different prayer groups and ministries on the hill, residents of the area and businesses along the access road to the beautiful hill defied the early morning rain of Saturday to repair the road which had deteriorated badly.
We appreciate all those behind the success and we look forward to more cooperation as we plan for the 2nd phase of the work.

Still on our mandate, HRCRC was privileged to address the Eze in Council, HRH Eze Chales Mkpuma, the Eze brugbala of Ezzama Kingdom and his chiefs / cabinet; and also a few members of the public who had gathered for the council meeting.
Seizing the opportunity to intimate them on our intended visits to their communities to canvass for peace especially in thee forth coming elections.
Preaching HRCRC, the gospel of Peace, Justice, Equity and the Rule of Law were HRCRC’s Ag Dir George, Moses and Jude (Peace Building dept) and Dr Orji (Chairman Onueke branch).
